My name is Tash and I am a 28-year-old wife, and mum of 2. My passion for photography comes from the same place I think a lot of people’s ideas and interests come from these days… Instagram. My daughter (my oldest) was a few months old, and I was scrolling Instagram and I came across the cutest photo of another little baby that stopped me instantly. All I could think was how lucky that mum was to have such a beautiful photo as a keepsake of her daughter at that age, which ignited a fire in me to want the same for my daughter. I didn’t have a fancy camera – it was just a simple point and shoot camera -  and I don’t at all believe in Instagram filters, so I spent years and years focusing on the “look” I liked, and working out what my photography style was, and achieving that from the camera rather than post production chucking a filter on it etc.

Throughout the years I have begun following more and more mums accounts and still to this day, of all the photos I see on Instagram daily, I can remember particular photos of so many peoples accounts that I think are really amazing, like a league above in their usual feed. Those photos, for me, make such a huge impact, and instantly make me think how lucky that mum is to now have that photo forever, in amoungst her captures of her child doing every day things.

My kids are growing at an absolute rate of knots, and ever since I really started to take my passion seriously, I look back on those “above and beyond” photos and thank myself for taking the time to take them, because I simply cannot have my 5 year old go back to being a 2 year old , but what I do have, and can keep that is tangible, is photos.

I am also a preacher of “print your photos” because I believe that if we don’t, they just get lost on a computer somewhere and for me that is a crying shame, where they could be displayed in a stunning album and shown off to all the people who pass through your front door. I am also absolutely OCD with backing up my photos. I have them all foldered on the computer, which is also backed up to hard drive, and just to be triply sure, its all then burned onto disk too, as well as a hard copy of the cream of the crop printed and put into my precious album. What an absolute bore for most haha yet it makes my day lol! You could say I am a bit keen on photography haha!

In September 2017, my camera, which had got me through so many experiments and helped me really identify my style, died. I had an almighty panick attack, but my husband calmly said “its time to take the leap”, and he was so right, so I bought my first “big girl camera”. I spent the rest of 2017 experimenting with it and enjoying my children who were in their last few months of being home full time before their world became busy with kinder and hitting the rat race.

Once my daughter was settled into kinder in 2018 and we had all really adjusted to our new routine, I finally bit the bullet and signed up for my course in professional photography. What I can promise you, is that I am undeniably putting my blood sweat and tears into learning the absolute art of photography. I understand what it takes to create a good photo and I am equipped with everything needed to provide top quality photos every single time. What I can offer you is that special photo that you are so lucky to have, that you can hold on to forever. Be it your newborn, your children, your family, your parents or grandparents. If you want an Easter styled shoot, or an amazing Christmas card photo, or a special gift for mum for mother's day. I will have you covered.
